Ruby is a New Zealand illustrator currently based between Pōneke/Wellington and Naarm/Melbourne. She enjoys drawing simple but impactful images that explore themes of mental health, body image, love, and community. Ruby is best known for her drawing of two women embracing in a hug, penned with the words “This is your home and you should have been safe here”, which was shared widely online following the 2019 Christchurch terror attacks. She has since released two books, All of This Is for You and In This Body, with Penguin Random House. Ruby also recently illustrated former New Zealand prime minister Dame Jacinda Ardern’s debut children’s book, Mum’s Busy Work.

Ruby has worked with a wide range of brands and organisations including Amnesty International, Madman Entertainment, BIC, Nespresso, Invivo, and the Kindness Collective.
